The Benjamin Ferré and DUO for a JOB partnership
The partnership between Benjamin Ferré and DUO for a JOB was an extraordinary experience, both for the young skipper and for the entire DUO for a JOB community. By proudly wearing the DUO for a JOB colors on his IMOCA Monnoyeur-DUO for a JOB, Benjamin offered our cause exceptional visibility throughout the Vendée Globe 2024, the biggest sailing race around the world, alone, nonstop and without assistance.
Although alone during the long weeks of racing in the Vendée Globe, Benjamin was able to count on the exceptional support of Jean Le Cam, sailing legend, in all his preparation. Together, they embodied an intergenerational duo sharing profound values of sharing and transmission. These principles are at the heart of the DUO for a JOB program, which supports intergenerational exchange, just like the relationship between Benjamin and Jean.
“The new generations also learn from the old ones and I think it's more about sharing than about transmitting.”
— Jean Le Cam —
“I think it's incredibly rewarding to use the lessons of the past to create your own trajectory.”
— Benjamin Ferré —
Thanks to a joint partner who knew how to create the spark, Benjamin and DUO for a JOB met for the first time at the beginning of 2022.
One could imagine that everything opposes a social project like that of DUO with the world of sailing... And yet! A young athlete and his experienced mentor, of course, resonate with the association's mentoring program. The meeting between Benjamin and DUO for a JOB was therefore obvious since the values of intergenerational sharing and exchange are at the heart of both projects: “using lessons from the past to create your own trajectory is an incredible asset” explains Benjamin.
Finally, our partnership made sense!

He did it! In 84 days, 23 hours, 19 minutes and 39 seconds, Benjamin Ferré crossed the finish line of the Vendée Globe, accomplishing an extraordinary feat. It thus became the first straight fin boat in the fleet to finish the race. Thanks to the visibility he and his partners gave us, a wave of new seniors discovered our association and decided to engage as mentors to support the professional integration of young people.
A promising future
The adventure is not over with the end of the race. On the contrary, it marks the beginning of a common journey, of a great collaboration between all the actors in this project. A huge thank you to Benjamin Ferré, to its teams, and to all partners, in particular Monnoyeur, which made this initiative a great success. Together, we continue to build bridges, create opportunities, and work for a more inclusive society.
The adventure has only just begun! 💚💙
