The DUO for a JOB association, created in Belgium, will celebrate its tenth anniversary in Brussels on September 14. It forms duos between young people with an immigration background and seniors to reduce difficulties in accessing employment. It has a branch in Lille.

Born in Belgium, the association “DUO for a JOB” connects young refugees or people from immigration with seniors. The aim? Help them find a job, support them in their administrative procedures, without forgetting to give an important place to cultural exchanges. An intergenerational mentoring with many virtues, since beyond responding to a mission of integration into employment, these duos promote the enhancement of the skills of young retirees and bring generations closer together.

The bet was launched by the DUO for a JOB association, and it works! People with an immigration background have difficulty accessing employment. And the experience of seniors is not valued enough. Based on this double observation, DUO for a JOB creates inseparable duos, for an unforgettable human adventure.

An intergenerational mentoring program at the Emmaüs Connect offices in Roubaix

Five months after the move of the digital solidarity space from Roubaix to the heart of the city, the team is giving itself a new mission: to make its premises more spacious, visible and accessible, available to associative actors in the area. Every week, from September to December, the DUO for a JOB association invests part of the premises of the Emmaüs Connect space in Roubaix to provide hotlines there.
