DUO for a JOB: intergenerational mentoring at the start of the Vendée Globe!
November 5, 2024 - The start of the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe will take place on November 10. The DUO for a JOB association will benefit from exceptional visibility offered by the young skipper Benjamin Ferré, who has been involved with the structure for almost 3 years.
Throw your daron!
Not only does Benjamin Ferré wear the logo and colors of the association in his sails, but he is organizing a major awareness-raising campaign “Throw your daron away!” for the benefit of DUO for a JOB, an association that has been offering intergenerational mentoring in France for 5 years. Objective: to make their mission visible and allow them to recruit 111 new volunteer mentors who will join the more than 550 volunteer mentors already active in Paris, Lille, Marseille and Lyon.
“The more mentors there are at DUO for a JOB, the more young people can be supported, and that gives meaning to my commitment to this Vendée Globe!” exclaims Benjamin Ferré. By graciously offering such visibility to DUO for a JOB, the skipper and his main sponsor Monnoyeur are giving the organization the opportunity to promote their common values around the world and to highlight the strength of intergenerational encounters.
It is better to be two and well accompanied
Finding a job is sometimes like the Vendée Globe: a solo expedition. ”It is the strength of the encounter that allows us to reveal ourselves, to overcome difficulties and to emerge transformed. By sharing their experience, we lieBors boost the chances of young people to build their professional project, and contribute to a fairer and more united society” explains Prunelle Gorget, director of the association in France. Like the young job seekers supported by the association's mentors, Benjamin Ferré also benefitted from the support and advice of a mentor. Thirty years his senior, Jean Le Cam, a renowned skipper, has indeed played a decisive role in Benjamin's career: he helped him overcome his apprehensions and showed him the way to success. Benjamin for his part, shared with Jean all his tips as a young entrepreneur. Together, they experienced what the association's duos go through: encounters and sharing that can change a life!
