DUO for a JOB – Mentoring for Employment

Description: DUO for a JOB is an intergenerational mentoring program that enables a young refugee or migrant to be supported in their job search by a mentor over the age of 50. Together, they form a duo that meets at least once a week for six months.
Since its creation in 2013 in Belgium, DUO for a JOB has supported more than 4,500 young people and currently has over 1,600 active mentors. In 70% of cases, these young people have found a positive outcome, with 50% securing employment. Additionally, 9 out of 10 mentors continue after their first duo. Beyond being an effective socio-professional integration program, DUO for a JOB is a project of openness and solidarity that brings together people of different ages, backgrounds, and neighborhoods around a positive experience that strengthens social cohesion and reduces discrimination. The project supported by the AMIF (Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund) aims to scale up the program in France and launch at least 135 duos across Paris, Lille, and Marseille during the 2023-2024 period.
