A unique and rewarding
human experience

Our intergenerational mentoring program pairs a volunteer mentor with a young jobseeker (mentee).

Over the course of 6 months, they meet regularly to work together on a personalized action plan. The mentor receives training from the association to effectively support their mentee, help them overcome obstacles, and achieve their professional goals.

These meetings offer mentors the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone, feel useful, challenge their prejudices, develop new skills, and connect with an active network of mentors.

The 5-step program

The success of the DUO for a JOB mentoring program is rooted in the warm professionalism of its teams and the application of a proven methodology.

A group of young people are looking in the same direction while following an information session at DUO for a JOB.

1. The info session

This is an opportunity to present the project to you, clarify the roles of each participant, and answer any questions you may have.

2. The individual appointment

You are invited to have an individual meeting with a coordinator, where we can better understand your experience and expectations.

Three seniors are talking around a table during a training session.

3. Initial training

No coaching experience is required! Each participant will complete a 4-day collective initial training course to learn the essential skills and interpersonal techniques needed to be an effective mentor.

4. The first encounter

You will meet your future mentee and confirm (or not) the match made by the team. If the match is confirmed, a second meeting will be scheduled to sign the mentoring agreement and clarify everyone's commitments.

Three people are smiling and working together on a computer. They are a young man of Arab origin, his mentor, a white man in his 70s, and their coordinator, a young woman with blond hair.

5. The duo

For 6 months, you will have:

👉 20 appointments (2 hours each) with your mentee
👉 One referent coordinator who supervises your duo
👉 Group workshops and intervision sessions between mentors
👉 A warm, fully-equipped workspace available 5 days a week

Frequently Asked Questions

As a mentor, will I get paid?

Our volunteer mentors are not paid. On the other hand, DUO for a JOB fully takes care of the 4-day training led by professionals that each mentor awaits at the start of their adventure with us!

What are the criteria for becoming a mentor?

To participate in the adventure, you must: Be over 50 years old Be available 2-3 hours/week Have professional experience to value ‍ 💡 Do you meet these criteria? Sign up for an information session and help a young person find a job!

What does the young person expect from me?

Each mentee is different, so their needs and expectations are not always the same. In general, he does not always have the necessary tools for his job search. He therefore would like to help him define his professional desires and identify his skills, to write his resume and cover letter or to search for job offers together. ‍ It is therefore teamwork where you have to listen to the other, understand their realities, build a relationship of trust, in order to move forward together in the same direction!
