Paris- March 17, 2025 — As of March 24, the DUO for a JOB association is deploying a communication campaign in 19,000 French game stores and in the major train stations of Paris, Lille, Marseille and Lyon that plays with prejudices and... invites us to better deconstruct them.
‍
A campaign to change the way people look
In a landscape where mentoring initiatives are multiplying, DUO for a JOB wishes to appeal to the general public through a strong and differentiating campaign. In a job market where inequalities persist (the unemployment rate of immigrants is nearly 2x higher than that of non-immigrants - Insee) DUO for a JOB acts concretely by connecting young people with an immigration background with volunteer mentors over 50 years old. One intergenerational mentoring program which boosts the job search for young people with an immigration background, while valuing the experience of seniors and creating social ties.
‍
Are young people who are too lazy... and seniors out for it?
The prejudices about the two audiences that DUO for a JOB brings into contact are tough. Whether it's prejudices related to age, origin or skin color, young people with an immigrant background are still too often victims of discrimination.. Among immigrants and their descendants, 82% say they experience discrimination mainly related to their origin or skin color (Insee).
Seniors are also too often confronted with numerous prejudices: inactive, Slow down, selfish, Looking to the past... These prejudices, however, are in sharp contrast to the state of mind in which they find themselves. “By creating unique encounters between neighborhoods, cultures and generations, DUO for a JOB connects two audiences that ultimately have a lot to contribute” underlines Jana El-Assaad, communication director of the association. “These unique encounters contribute to creating a more inclusive and united society and to deconstructing prejudices on a daily basis.”
